FIRST EUROPEAN ASSEMBLY OF CONTEMPRORARY ART CENTRES POSTPONED 

In light of global health concerns regarding the recent outbreak of the Coronavirus COVID-19 and following advices and restrictions from local, national, international and health authorities, D.C.A and his European partners have decided to postpone the First European Assembly of Contemporary Art Centres initially scheduled for 19 and 20 May in Paris. The new dates will be announced in the coming months.

  While the situation surrounding COVID-19 continues to evolve in France and abroad, the safety and wellbeing of our participants is our number one priority, and given the uncertainty over future social distancing restrictions and the growing number of travel bans from international authorities, we considered it inappropriate and unwise to hold such an international gathering.

The opportunity to meet and interact with researchers, intellectuals, artists, curators and art professionals from all over the world is at the heart of our value proposition, and we feel it is the right decision to postpone in order to maintain both the quality and unique format of this event.

We are more committed than ever to the cause of women, gender equality and diversity ; and while the current health crisis exacerbates all forms of inequality around the world, it seems all the more necessary today to address these issues collectively. The European Assembly of Contemporary Art Centres will be the occasion.

On 19 & 20 May 2020, d.c.a together with French and European partners organise the First European Assembly of Contemporary Art Centres at the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) in Paris.

Over two days, researchers, thinkers, artists, curators and art workers will share inspirations, ideas and actions advancing towards gender equality and diversity in contemporary art centres and cultural institutions at large.
